That looks like it would sting. But just a little.

I'm guessing it's some sort of semiautomatic gun with a huge ass magazine? Badass man!

I am gonna guess MTAR 21. I played a lot of Rainbow Six Vegas back in the day. This was my gun of choice.

I've never understood the logic of 'take all the guns away, we'll be safe'. But...then only the bad guys have guns...and they don't follow the laws...

Well, I was hoping for a SCAR, but those are expensive...The local gun store has been getting in Tavor's at a super slow pace, but they had this one in, so got it. I know its crazy reliable, and the owner of the store was saying he's going to get read of all of his AR's soon, because they can't touch his Tavor (he bought the first one that came in, and apparently they're selling like hot cakes when they do come in)
![]() 02/22/2014 at 19:43 |

That's quite a thing to get! Color me jealous.

Well, a civilian version of the Tar, so pretty much yes :) My gun of choice in MW2 as well, lol, and the gun store I went to's owners gun of choice for real now, he was saying he'll be selling all or at least most of his AR's soon, as he doesn't need them now that he's got a Tavor Tar

Agree'd, I seem to remember some crazy number like...98 I think? 98 percent (or some other high number) of all guns used in crimes are illegally bought..so take if they were to take away legally bought guns, then 98% of guns used in crimes would still be their.. so.. that wouldn't change a thing crime wise, aside from taking away people's defense.

What I would give for a Tavor is OD Green...

Looks like the American company selling them now only does tan and black. Apparently tan is the much more rare color (yay me).

Is that an IWI mag? If so, the one that I got with mine looks a lot... worse. Granted, I pre-ordered, so I have one of the earliest models, so I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it...
![]() 02/22/2014 at 20:24 |

No, I wish it were the one that came with it..as the it had a 30 rd mag with.. but they can't legally sell those here anymore (wtf Colorado!!) so the gun store pulled it out and tossed in a 10..though we have plenty of 30 rd mags as we also have a AR

Is that a gun from Goldeneye on N64?
![]() 02/22/2014 at 20:28 |

I don't have the money for one anyway. Plus I'm more in the market for an AR-10 or something similar right now. But then the ammo is 972346% more expensive than 5.56. I want money =[

Ah, gotcha. Fun fact: the BUIS built in to the top rail has a tritium front post.

Yeah, I was looking at a Ruger SR-762, and deciding between this, it, and a Aug, didn't like the Aug as much, .308 ammo cost way more then 223/556, so Tavor it is :)

Haha shows how old I am. That game was the shit, in 1998...
I just looked up the gun yours reminded me of. The gun in the game was fictional, but was inspired by a real gun:

Not sure, its a 18 inch barrel though :)
![]() 02/22/2014 at 21:02 |

Well, you would have needed to get stamp and fill out extra paperwork. But i just looked up the specs, and they are less than a 16in barrel, or less than 24in overall is considered to be an sbr.
enjoy the new rifle though!

It's called an M14/M1A. That and reloading.

I'm an AUG person, but I wouldn't mind a black Tavor. Speaking of IMI, I REALLY want a Micro Galil.

I had a choice of getting the one you told me about on my last gun post (the..MSAR), this, or a Ruger SR-762, ended up going with this. The owner of the store said he'd be getting rid of his personal AR's soon, due to having the Tavor now, and thus no need for AR's in his life. I'd like to shoot a Galil too :)

I helped a buddy buy a MSAR, I have an original AUG A1, and a transferable M16. Somewhere in my shop is everything necessary to assemble a Galil.
I'll always be a "bigger is best" type of person when it comes to caliber. Right now my largest is .300WM, which I find kinda boring. 20mm is where it's at... Oh well, back to what I was saying. I'd prefer an AUG in 7.62, but the closest to that is the Keltec RFB, and while I commend Kel-Tec for their concepts, their business model blows. That and I don't like the FAL, which the RFB is based off of.
I'll always take a M14/M1A first and foremost if the proverbial shit hit the fan. I don't need select-fire; I've shot a F/A M14E before, and it was barely controllable. I've shot quite a few larger machineguns from the shoulder, like a M60E3, or a 1919, as well as more comparable LMGs like a G3 and HK51, and found all of them much easier to handle. I could easily "draw" on the side of a car with the M60E3, but would struggle to keep everything on a single door with a M14E2 at 100 yards.
I see I'm going off subject... in semi, the M1A is king. I long for a M21, with the USMC camo fiberglass stock, with a Leatherwood ART II scope....
But with 7.62 put aside, I only have two 5.56 weapons I'd consider: an original AUG A1, or a micro Galil. An HK-93 would be a possible, distant third, but accessibility of parts and accessories would make it less realistic.
The AUG has it all. Ambidextrous, compact, simple barrel changes, sub-caliber option (albeit the 9mm conversion isn't cheap), and it's easy to shoot. I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the MSAR. Yes, it's basically the same thing, but it doesn't feel quite the same. I've gone over my buddy's, and I'd definitely prefer mine. It's not a bad rifle, it's just not the same thing.
The Galil is a refinement of the all-purpose AK, twice removed. The Israelis took the already-impressive Valmet, a Finnish AK-variant, and came up with the Galil. The major difference, other than quality, is that it only is acvailable in 5.56 and 7.62x51.
I've been waiting for the Tavor to make it to US shores for almost ten years. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one. I have no doubt in it's quality; Israelis don't fuck around. How many times, other than anti-semitic racists, have you heard someone complain about how crappy the Uzi is, or how the Galil always jams?

I would LOVE a Springfield M1A Loaded, but again, money.

I haven't been on the market lately for one, but last time I checked, an AR-10 is around the same price as a used M1A...
![]() 02/24/2014 at 11:56 |
|
I still can't afford either one. I was just saying I'm more in the market for an AR-10 as in I'm more in the market for a .308 AR-style rifle than a 5.56 bullpup.
![]() 02/25/2014 at 01:50 |

Well, then, I'd say go for the RFB, if you could find one. Cheaper than either 7.62 rifles, still a 7.62 bullpup.
